Nylon Strip Extrusion & Custom Slitting

Thin Nylon Strip Manufacturing for Precision Stamping, Slitting, and Industrial Applications

Nylon Strip Thickness and Dimensional Range

Nylon strip is available in thicknesses ranging from 0.25 mm to 3.18 mm, making it an ideal solution for precision components requiring thin, consistent material. While extruded plastic plate and sheet products are well suited for larger and thicker components, thin nylon strip provides a more efficient and cost-effective option once parts become small or lightweight.

Applications such as washers, seal rings, gaskets, shims, and wear strips benefit from nylon strip due to its dimensional accuracy, uniform thickness, and suitability for high-volume production.

Precision Nylon Strip Production

Our nylon strip extrusion process is supported by a sophisticated extruder combined with microprocessor-controlled process monitoring and off-line slitting capabilities. This production setup allows master reels to be precision cut into standard or custom widths, ensuring consistent quality and close tolerances.

The focus of our plastic production operation is to manufacture high-quality, close-tolerance thin nylon strip engineered for use with high-productivity automatic stamping and punching equipment. In strip form, materials such as nylon, acetal, and PTFE can be efficiently converted into low, medium, or high-volume stamped and cropped components.

Common stamped and punched parts include:

  • Wear strips

  • Washers

  • Seal rings

  • Gaskets

  • Interleaf shims

  • Sleeve bearings

Materials such as Tepmax® 66, Nylatron® GS, and Nylomos™ are particularly well suited for the production of high-performance punched and stamped nylon components.

One-Stage Extrusion-to-Dispatch Process

TEPP Plastics offers a one-stage manufacturing process, from extrusion through dispatch, delivering nylon strip in continuous lengths up to 500 meters. This streamlined approach helps reduce labour costs, material waste, and production time for stamped and punched plastic parts.

Continuous lengths of nylon and engineering plastics are ideally suited for progressive and compound tooling operations, improving efficiency in automated manufacturing environments.

Custom Slitting Capabilities and Advantages

Custom slitting is available for all standard nylon strip products within the 0.25 mm to 3.18 mm thickness range.

Custom Slitting Features:

  • Strip widths available from 8 mm to 304 mm, depending on thickness

  • Custom slitting in 1 mm width increments

  • Standard and premium width tolerances available

  • Nylon strip reels up to 500 m in length

  • Slitting tolerances tailored to material thickness

Custom Slit Reels and Made-to-Order Products

  • Smaller reel lengths available upon request

  • Non-standard widths supported
